Forever Friends Forever love projects.

the forever friends forever love collection is very versatile and can be used for both valentines projects and Christmas.
I made this card using the toppers which are great for saving time.
I used the decoupage toppers on these cards which are ready cut and easy to assemble. I don't normally like decoupage because of having to cut out all the little bits but with these you just follow the step by step guide. you don't need to buy any special adhesives just use 3d foam pads.

if you would like a step by step guide to how I made this altered jar then visit www.docrafts.com
and finally my Christmas wreath I made using a polystyrene ring, x-cut a5 flower dies and a balling tool. it took ages to make all the flowers 3d but I am pleased with the end result.

docrafts creativity Spots and Stripes Jewel cards

my Christmas  card made it in to the creativity club newsletter. I send n loads of these but only a few make it into the spot light.

and below are my other cards I submitted for the Spots and Stripes Jewel digital downloads. to get these papers you need to subscribe to the Creativity Club at www.docrafts.com the second part of this download will be available next week.

my layout using Creativity club downloads

I decided to create this layout using the exclusive downloads from creativity club. I hadn't created a 12x12 layout for a while and I wanted to use this photo of Gizmo who sadly passed away last month. he had a genetic defect from birth and there wasn't anything we could do for him.

Halloween and fall cards

I had a play around with some card designs and came up with these, I new to cards as I've always been into scrapbook layouts but at least my cards no longer look like a child made them so I should be able to send them to people. i'am linking these projects to crafty creations and you can link your Halloween and Fall creations here http://www.thememorynest.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/crafty-creations-4.html
I used textured cardstock form Papermania and American crafts earth tones with the frames 8 die cutter from Crafts-Too.  the stickers are from EK Success and I used a spider charm and adhered it at an angle and drew a line connecting it too the spider web sticker.
this card was made with the same products but this time I used a sizzix bigz die and a pumpkin stamp from KI stamps.

Crafty creations at The Memory Nest

hi here is my crafty creation for this week you can add yours here http://thememorynest.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/crafty-creations-4.html

This Halloween I decided to decorate my own Halloween tree just like the ones on pin interest.  I had t make a lot of the decorations myself as not many stores sell the tree decorations here in the UK.
I made the felt decorations using a free pattern off pin interest and the pine cones were free as I collected them from the park. I just gave them a wash and coated them in acrylic paint and ultra fine glitter. every thing else I got from Poundland which is like the dollar store.

next i'll will be sharing a card and a wreath.

Guest Designer at The Memory Nest

I have been asked by Leslie from The Memory Nest to be a guest designer this month's challenge and what a honour it is and I would like to thank her for this opportunity. The theme is Autumn or Halloween so dig out those photos and play along at The Memory Nest. http://thememorynest.blogspot.co.uk.

My  layout is an autumn layout and was made during the beginning of fall when the air becomes fresher and everything is turning from green and bright to rusts and earthy tones. the photo is of
the cannel that flows through the town I live in and as I walked past it one sunny September afternoon I took this shot.

I used American Crafts Earth Tones cardstock with Dear Lizzy Lucky charm and Create Paper Pink Plum papers. all these products compliment each other really well and I love the autumn tones of these papers. I've discovered AC Thickers I love them, American Crafts where have you been all my life!!.

I've been experimenting with stencils and used the ivy to frame my photo using gesso and acrylic paint. the die cuts are made using Tim Holtz Autumn Gatherings decorative die cutter and the mini rosette die cutter and Bare Basics Christmas Chipboard Shapes from Papermania.

Berry71bleu: October Challenge

I am playing along at http://berry71bleu.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/october-challenge-autumn-is-in-air.html. the theme for this month's challenge is Autumn and to use this mood board as inspiration.

my layout was inspired by the brown and rust colours of fall.

I tried to capture the moment fall begins when the air has a slight chill but still mild and when the foliage starts to turn from green to orange.
I achieved the tattered paper effect by wetting the edges of the paper until it was almost mushy. I then scrunched up the paper and set it using a heating tool.
to get a more layered look to your page you could try tucking things between the layers.
I used Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die cutter  the Sizzixs Bigz version. I used burn sienna ink with Tim Holtz Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo distress inks to add colour to the leaves then I  wet the edges and rolled them up to add dimension.

the products I used on this project are:
Dear Lizzy lucky charm
Create Paper Pink Plum
Papermania Capsule Collection Bexley Black
Papermania Persimmon  A5 paper pad
large sunflower stamp
Anna Griffin vintage photo corners
Tim Holtz Bigz Tattered Leaves
Tim Holtz Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo inks
EK Success stickers
Tim Holtz mini rosette die

I used Kaisercraft collection Madame Boutique die cuts and inked the with Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink, these die cuts hold the ink really well with hardly any smudging. I hide my journaling on a tag behind the photo to add an interactive element to my page.

The Memory Nest Heart Challenge

my first layout for my new holiday album. managed to get a few photos printed before my ink ran out!!. now I've got to wait for the postman to deliver my ink and holiday snaps. I had a wonderful time down south despite the weather being completely random. my first layout is for The Memory Nest heart challenge which I'm just about in time for.

The theme for this challenge is water, so I chose a snap I took of the tall ship Tenacious docking into Poole Quay. I used my Papermania  Ahoy There papers that I have been saving just for my holiday album. I used Tim Holtz peacock distress ink around the edges of my layers.

The twist on this challenge was to use a interactive element so I hid my journaling in a pocket behind the page.

The Memory Nest final summer challenge

here we are the last summer challenge and the official end of British summer although the clocks don't go back till the end of October. The leaves have started to turn orange and yellow already and the air has become fresh with a slight chill. I start my end of summer holiday soon, I'm usually lucky and the temperatures aren't too cold in September.  I've chosen a festive layout for this project as i need to get my Christmas photos on to layouts before I add any more to the already large pile of photos.

I used Daisy Ds Nativity 12x12 paper as the back ground with Papermania Capsule Collection cranberry and Apple.
