DecoArt Blogger Outreach Program: Altered Brush and Utensil Holder

Hi all

I was lucky enough to win a Brush and Utensil holder from Candy Box Crafts. So i painted it with Vintage Chalky Finish paint and varnished it.

I used the new DecoArt Decou Papers to decorated the sides and front with. I used the Victorian paper pack.

The row of birds is from Things to Alter. I painted the birds with crafters acrylic and to create a bark effect. Paint the branch with Titanium White Fluid Acrylic. Next coat with Weathered Wood medium and leave to dry. Next paint over with Burnt Umber Fluid Acrylic, sprinkle over with cinnamon powder and dab over with more paint to add texture.

I used the Teal and Neutral goody bags for this card and alternated between teal and cream.

This is the Monochrome collection which is one of my favorites. The paper flowers and toppers are included with the kits.

I used the Fiskars interchangeable boarders to create the lace effect.

This one is all Teal and i made thei quick card using the flowers and gems that came with the kit.

Things to Alter : Alter Something From The Kitchen

Hi all

I am sharing an altered wooden spoon i made for the Things to Alter Facebook challenge where we had to alter something from the Kitchen. You can join our challenges here https://www.facebook.com/groups/1578437669085933/1605893239673709/?notif_t=group_activity&notif_id=1460467745876007

I stared off by painting the spoon with DecoArt Chalky Paint in Lace and leaving it to dry before applying a coat of weathered wood over the top. Once dry i painted the spoon with Serene Chalky Finish Paint.

I then wrapped pink organza ribbon around the spoon and glued into place.

I painted the little bird with crafters Acrylic Island Blue and Fluid Acrylics in Titanium white. Stuck dow the birds nest and added pearls for the little eggs. I perched the little bird on the edge and glued 3 ribbon flowers underneath.

The title i glued down the handle and painted with Patina Blue Fluid Acrylic Paint.

I finished off the spoon by making a bow from ribbon and gluing a duck egg blue flower on top. Thank you for visiting and if you are inspired to alter something from the Kitchen then please leave a link in the comments.

Trimcraft Simply Creative Made With Love Cards

Hi all
I am sharing my cards i made with the Simply Creative Made With Love Paper Pads.

for this card i used the Dovecraft Essentials Photo Frames to create a topper. I backed it on to pattered paper and placed a wooden frame in the centre.  Then used some felt hearts for the centre.

Another way of using the photo frames but this time i used the First Edition  Wedding  die set.

I used an origami heart for the focal point

Another card that makes use of the First Edition Wedding Die Set

for this card i decided to place the layers at an angle instead of in straight lines

Introducing First Edition Pick n Mix by Trimcraft

Hi all

I have some makes to share using the lovely and bright First Edition Pick n Mix collection.

For this card i covered half the card in the starburst pattern and then the bottom with rainbow stripes. Next i cut a flag from the glitter stars paper and cut out a large circle and trimmed off one edge before layering it all together. The flowers and gems are from the Simply Creative Collection.

This bright card is quick to make. I covered a 6x6 blank with yellow paper and cut out two strips off patterned paper at different widths. I don't measure my layers i sort of rough cut them by eye. Next i cut out the square parenthesis using a die and stuck it to the centre. I cut out the sentiment using pink paper and the Varsity Die Set. I finished the card off by using the Fiskars 2 in 1 Flag and Artisan punch to create the tabs.

I decided to play with the Cupcake  Die set and made this sugary sweet card. Doesn't the background remind you of sprinkles?

Gecko Galz DT Blog Spotlight April New Releases And Free Digi Stamp

Hi all

I am back with my monthly blog spotlight for the Gecko Galz and i have a layout to share and a card showing off a few of the new releases.

I mixed Peacock Green Pure colour Chemistry with texture paste and used the Ledger stencil from The Crafters Workshop on the background. I then used Waterfall Pure Colour Chemistry and spritzed it on the page.

The cork stickers are from Jennifer Grace and the MDF is from Things to Alter

I used the Alter It College Sheet with the papers from the Seaside Splendor Craft Kit

The title i painted with DecoArt Media White Crackle Paste and then used Pertania Antiquating Cream  over the top.

The Alter It College Sheet has a lot of bits that can be cut out and inked.

Here are the new products released this quarter. The Go Ask Alice college sheet has several vintage Alice in Wonderland toppers that are ready to print out.

The papers are from the Spring Awakening Paper Pack

You cant do an Alice themed card without clocks which i cut out from the Time Flies College Sheet.
