DecoArt Blogger Outreach: Inspire Art Journal page

                                                                        Hi all

I have started an Art Journal which is going to be a learning curve for me as i can't seem to get it quite right. Maybe i am my own worse critic but I've seen some absolute stunning art journal pages and i would like to know how they get them so bloody fabulous.

I started the page off by covering the page in the  Short Circuit Stencil and painting a couple of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics onto the page and spritzing water on to them to make them run.

I then tore up a few strips of Mirabelle Decoupage sheets and glued them to the page before painting over the centre with gesso and then white crackle paste. The words are from Sussan K Weckessers  Journal words set.

I used a itty bitty stamp from Unity but the lettering didn't show very well so i painted over it.

Trimcraft First Edition Introducing Pretty Posy

Hi all

I am back today with some of my makes using one of the new First Edition pads called Pretty Posy. This pad is lovely and floral.

I used the Open Butterflies from Things to Alter and painted them

I drew around the butterflies onto patterned paper and then cut them out before gluing them to the back of the MDF butterflies.

I then glued them together with PVA and decorated them with Simply Creative embellishments

I have a few cards to share using the Pretty Posy papers.

I've gone for more layers this time because the paper is so pretty i wanted to add more on. I tear the edges to add more texture to the layers or you can use scissors.

I painted the wooden frame with DecoArt Crackle paint and once dry i dabbed a brown ink pad over the top to give it a worn look. I picked up a few bits from the new A Beautiful Life collection which is exclusive to Poundland. I used the Pearls and brads on the flowers.

Trimcraft Scrapbook Feature May Belle and Boo Clipboard Layout

Hi all

i am back with my project i made for the Trimcraft blog today, I wont go into too much detail as we have a tutorial on the blog which you can find here http://www.trimcraft.co.uk/articles/layered-belle-and-boo-scrapbook-layout-workshop

The photo is my Mum aged 10 in 1965 with her Doll and Monkey.

The ribbon rosette is easy to make. Just cut ribbon into roughly six 2 cm strips and glue the two ends together to make the petals. Glue the edges of the ribbon petals around a large button and that's it all done.

Thank you for visiting and please visit the Trimcraft blog for more details and inspiration.

Trimcraft Back to Basics Berry Blush

                                             Hi all
I have some cards to share which i made using the new Back to Basics Berry Blush Collection.

I wanted to try creating a card with lots of layers.

Heart shaped cards give off a vintage feel and work well with the floral papers.

Another card i made with lots of different elements including a ribbon rosette and flourishes.

/This one is a rocker card made by cutting out a 6x6 card blank with a large circle die.

Things to Alter Mid Month Post Altered Jewelry

                                                                 Hi all
I am just popping in to remind you about are anything goes challenge for May. There are still a few weeks left to enter for the chance to win a box full of goodies. Here are a couple of makes i did to share.

This is a little brooch i made by colouring in the Seashell with Rose Gold Metallic Lustre and adding a flat back pearl in the centre. Very simple and great for a quick gift.

And here is a pendulum i altered. I added the extra beads and used the silver paint on the Angel Wing. The stone the pendulum is made from is call Opalite and has a golden glow when held in the light.

Gecko Galz Blog Spotlight May : Altered Domino Necklaces and free Digital Stamp

Hi all

I am back with some domino necklaces which i made using  Vintage Vixens Jewel It sheet. There is still time to enter our monthly challenge on the blog and Facebook group which you can find here http://geckogalzscrapbooking.blogspot.co.uk/ and https://www.facebook.com/groups/654948344560159/

I used the MDF Domino Blanks form Things to alter and printed out the sheet on A4. I had to center the images and trim them to fit but it worked out ok.

I used Anita's Glossy Accents to seal the images and decorated the bottom with mini cog charms and brown beads.

The copper space beads are my favorites but i like how this one turned out.

My second piece is more vintage and makes use of the odd pop of pink.

I used lose chain so i could adjust it to any length for adding the beads on.

Here is your free stamp of the month. The set is available on the Gecko Galz blog for free.

DecoArt Blogger Outreach Program Steampunk Nautical Altered Lamp

Hi all

I have this stunning altered lamp to share today. It's my favorite make this year and will take pride of place on my desk.

I started off by painting three layers of Americana Everlasting Chalky Finish paint. I then coated in Weathered Wood Crackle Medium and then once dry i painted over with Treasure Chalky Finish Paint and this gives you the lovely cracks.

The large anchor is from Things to Alter and to make it rusty, i mixed brown and orange paints together and sprinkle cinnamon over each layer of paint.. Once dry you can add a bit of Metallic Lustre. The shells are from Oak House Studio

I used some of my rust mixture down the lamp post and base. If you want your rust to look realistic just apply it where water would either run down or pool. I looked at pictures online to get a better idea of where it would build up.

I wrapped jute twine around the post and rubbed it with the rusty paint.

The lampshade i created by painting a cheap cream lampshade with So Soft Fabric Paint in True Blue. These are fabulous paints for material as they cover evenly and have a bit of body to them so that they don't absorb into the material straight away.

I used gold lace trim around the top and bottom of the lampshade and i rusted up a few 2inch and 1.5 inch MDF Cogs and washers from Things to Alter and glued them into place using a glue gun. I had to use them around the whole lampshade so it balanced once i fixed it onto the lamp.

Trimcraft Belle and Boo Seaside Layout

Hi all

I am back with a clean and simple layout using the new Belle and Boo Collection.

I used the Ice Cream Stamp set to create the background and coloured  a few in to use as embellishments.

I built up a few simple layers using the Fiskars shape cutter templates and by cutting the paper on a trimmer.

I used the Beach die set from First Edition to create the shells and beach sign
