Scrap Around The World May 2013 Challenge

This months Challenge from Scrap Around The World  at http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/welcome-to-scrap-around-world-and-our.html

i would just like to say that i had a lot of fun participating in this challenge. but now on to the story  behind my layout. Everyone loves a mystery especially one surrounding you family tree, so when i found this photo amongst my Grandmother's possessions i had so many questions. who is she, what was she like, is she related?. Sadly this photo will remain a mystery because my nan suffered from memory loss during her final months and couldn't remember who this lady is. My Mum and i believe it is my Nan's eldest sister Rose but we can't be certain because we don't have any photos of her as a young woman.
i cut these tags from the HOTP Roses in Harmony sample pack i got with SBM. i loved working with these papers as they blend so well with my heritage photos.

I got the name of the title from the only clue written on the back of the photo which was the year it was taken 1939.
I've been practicing with distressing techniques, my favorite so far is rolling the edges and inking them to achieve a worn look.
i sanded the edges of my base paper  to add to the shabby chic look of my layout.
i made these flowers by hand using the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral decorative die strip. i rolled the edges and used a balling tool to press the centres of the petals to 3d them. it took ages too do but I'm pleased with the results.

  3. It would be fab if you could link back your page to SATW instead of to your blog. It would be such a shame if the rest of our DT missed out on your submission because it was too difficult to find it on your blog. Thank you so much for doing this!
