My entry for the second summer challenge, its been very hot over here in England with temperatures reaching up to 32c the trouble is that the heat seems to make everything twice as hard to do. Still its the first real summer since the 90's. here's the link to play along

Leo has developed this habit of chewing on peoples shoes sometimes while you are wearing them.

I used Amy Tangerine Yes Please papers with Happy Days and Nit Wit summer kit

Life Paper Scrapbook July sketch: Hello Leo

I'm playing along with this month's sketch challenge at Life, Paper, Scrapbook and since its summer over here in the UK for the first time in 10 years I've chosen bright colours. I've used Amy Tangerine Yes Please with Nit Wit summer papers for this layout. you can join in with this challenge by clicking the link here http://www.lifepaperscrapbook.com/2013/07/july-sketch-challenge.html.

I covered the chipboard flowers in patterned paper so that they would blend in with the offer embellishments.

im playing along with the july challenge at http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/july-challenge.html. this month the journaling theme is growing so naturally I chose to make a romantic layout.

Scrap Around the World July challenge; Special day

I'm playing along with the July challenge at http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.co.uk/ the challenge is open until the 25th. I was inspired by the soft colours, the romance theme and the mixed media from the sketch. I decided to create another layout form my heritage album and scraped about Nan and Granddad's wedding.

I used HOTP Roses in Harmony with Papermania Lincoln linen papers on this layout.

The title was created by cutting the letters out of a journaling card and inking around the letters.

I painted a chipboard frame with acrylic paint and then stamped around it in Tim Holtz antique linen ink and embossed it with a heat embossing tool.

Life Paper Scrapbook June colour challenge

Playing along with Life Paper Scrapbook's June Colour challenge which I combined with this sketch from page maps here is the link to their page .http://www.lifepaperscrapbook.com/2013/07/submission-call-issue-3.html
I don't do layouts of my family very often and decided it was time to get those photos out of the box. My nan isn't around anymore so this layout is important because it reflects how life is a roller coaster of joy and sorrow and how you have to live in the moment before it is gone.  this page was rather emotional to make and you find that scrapbooking can be therapeutic when dealing with difficult subjects. Scrapbooks should be about your life's journey and include both the good times and the bad times because these make us who we are today.
I like making flowers for my layouts here I used a circle die to cut out fabric and folded it I half twice to make petals I then sew them together with a running stich and kept threading the petals together. I use Tim Holtz Tattered florals and mini rosette dies for this project. with Amy Tangerine Yes please and scraps of various papermania papers.
