How to create an Inspiring mixed media scrapbook page

Hi all

I am sharing my final project  for The Robins Nest. I used one of my Mum;s photographs which was taken by one of the neighbours in the early 60's. It is of both my grandparents and mum when they was young and i love the way it has captured a normal everyday moment, A snapshot of history all in one photograph.

Take your chosen photograph and position on page. Draw around the photo to mark out its position. Apply gesso around the photo and across the page with a palette knife.
Apply a stencil mask over the page using black modeling paste and once dry, spritz with sepia ink.
Spritz water over sections of the page and sprinkle on red ink.
Stamp around page with texture stamps

Mat photo onto patterned paper and trim to size. Adhere to the page using 3d foam tape and then take a selection of cards, die cut doilies and flowers,Cover in gesso, inks and add a stencil mask to a few. Cut these up and layer them together to create the layers.
Tuck a few bundles of thread between the layers and glue down.

Add the die cut flowers and glue seed beads into the centre.
Add more seed beads around the edged of the photo by pressing them into modeling paste.
Add some feathers and more texture stamps around the page.

Thank you for visiting
