Without Change Gelli Printed Art Journal

Hi all

I  have been using my Gelli Plate again. I find covering everything in paint very relaxing and i have been using the new Premium  Acrylic Paints by DecoArt. They work really well with the Gelli Plates because they are a nice consistency so they spread well without being to watery.

I applied Hansa Yellow Medium to one half of the plate and then Cadmium Orange Hue to the other half  with a little Primary Yellow in the middle. I then used a brayer and spread it all out to create an ombre effect. Stick your blank page over the top and give it a little pat, this doesn't have to be perfect.

Next i took an alphabet stencil and placed it on the Gelli Plate before rolling some Quinacridone Gold over the top.It has a lovely rusty red colour so i use this one for distressing things. Peel the stencil off and pat it over the journal page. You can use a brayer to get a sharper print.

Once it is all dry, i took a mini stencil and added some Titanium White to the page with the brayer. I added the texture stamps and some hand written words along the edges of the page.

Next i picked out one of my favourite butterfly stamps from Gummiapan and then applied Paynes Grey to the plate and used the brayer to roll it out. I then stuck the stamp to an acrylic block and pressed it into the paint and then stamped it onto another gelli print i had created earlier. This gives you a distressed stamp effect. I cut out the butterflies and added them to the page with a sentiment.
