Bleeding Art Challenge March Anything Goes Altered Cotton Reels

Hi all
We are on to the March challenge for Bleeding Art. If only the bleeding weather would warm up lol. This month i decided to dig out my cotton spools which were a lot slimmer than they looked when i ordered them online. I have had them in my stash for a bit as i had no idea what to do with them until now.

I have created a set of nature themed altered cotton spools.
As it is supposed to be spring already lol.

So here is how i made them:
  1. Cut out ephemera and apply glue to the spool, then wide it around the center.
  2. Cut out three 2 inch circles from thick cardstock and glue the spool to the card base,
  3. Spray everything with green mist spray.
  4. Dye cheesecloth green using inks and dry it off before gluing it to the base.
  5. Cut out fairies and glue them to a hat pin.
  6. Apply blobs of glue to the top of the spool and then push the fairies into the whole in the center.
  7. Glue on fake moss, resin flowers and butterflies to the top and pillar.
  8. Glue beads and flowers to the bottom to finish.

Thank you for visiting
