Emerald Creek Crafts Steampunk Altered Box

Hello all
I am showing off these lush embossing powders off with this altered box for Emerald Creek Crafts

Product used
DecoArt Texture Sand Paste
DecoArt Heavy Gel Medium
DecoArt Premium Acrylic Quinacridone Gold
Wooden box

The cogs are die cut from card and then i covered them in heavy gel medium before sprinkling on chunky rust embossing powder.

I used Pertina on the clock and added some to the large rusty cog. i added more heavy gel medium to the parts that i wanted to add another colour to.

The box was painted and then i used decoupage paper over the top and sides. Then i painted over it with Quinacridone Gold acrylic paint. Then i glued the pieces onto the box.

I added texture sand paste to the edges of the box and then painted over it with Quinacridone Gold paint to add more rust.

Emerald Creek Crafts Flowers On The Wall Altered Picture Frame

Hello all
I am up on the Emerald Creek Crafts blog this month with an altered frame. Check out how i made this bellow.

Products used
DecoArt Black Gesso
DecoArt Metallics Festive Red
DecoArt Crafter's Acrylic Burgundy
DecoArt Crafter's Acrylic Coffee

Take a cheap plastic frame, mine is from Poundland which is like Dollar store.
Cover whole frame in a few coats of black gesso.

Once the gesso has fully dried, paint on red metallic paint.

i created the roses by pressing paper clay into a silicone mold and then backing them until they set.
I then painted them in burgundy and brown acrylic paint. Before the paint dried i sprinkled on the embossing powder and melted it with a heat gun.

Emerald Creek Crafts April Showers Art Journal

Hi all
It is usually Spring in my part of the world but it is taking a while to warm up. we are having an unusually dry April at the moment. Any way here is my art journal entry for this month's theme.

Paint with gesso first and when it is nearly dry, paint on a light blue acrylic paint with a make up sponge.
Next layer up a few darker blue colours, just paint them on lightly so each colour isn't fully covered.

Stamp around the edges with a texture stamp and then use a stencil to apply a modeling paste through a stencil. Sprinkle on the Mermaid Fin Embossing Powder and then heat to set.

Stamp on the Carnation stamp in the corners of the pages and then stamp some out onto card.
Colour the flowers with watercolour paints and then cut them out so that they can be glued onto the page.
Add journaling to finish
