Docrafts Team July Blog Hop: Interactive Elements

Hi all

Today I am taking part in the July Docrafts Team Hop and the theme this month is to add and interactive element to your project. So i attempted to make a spinner card.

please hop along to the other blogs on the list to see what my team have been making

The mechanism is made from a separate sheet of card and you just cut a circle out of it and then take the cut out bit and cut a smaller circle out of it. When you stick it to the card only add 3d foam to the corners otherwise the spinner bit get stuck.

The Spinner is two pennies stuck together with a large 3d dot and a metal charm stuck to that.

There wasn't much space left on the card so i added small embellishments and paper strips to the edges.

I used the mini Gorjuss Girl decoupage that came free with one of the Creativity mag gifts.

Colouring with the First Edition Markers

Hi all

I have been playing with the new First Edition Markers and i have to say they are easy to use with strong colours. They come with a blender pen and all the pens are numbered so its easier to shade them.

I used the Bohemian collection for this card and used spritzing ink on the card base which i sprayed lightly and flicked across the card/ I then cut two doilies in half and layered them up before i cut out the flowers and leaves from the 12x12 pad and stuck them down..

I coloured in the bird stamp by following the First Edition  colour chart  which helped me to decide which shades went together.

The butterflies i cut out of the packaging and adhered with a 3d foam pad

I finished the card off with a sentiment and adhesive gems

Thank you for looking.

Wedding Ever After: Something Borrowed Wedding Card

Hi all
i am back with a few projects showing off the new Papermania range. It is designed to be used to make custom wedding stationary and is released in July.

To make the curved shape, take an A5 card blank and place the Extra Large Square Parenthesis die over it leaving a bit of an edge so that the card doesn't fall apart.

cove base with Midnight Blush paper and trim to fit

Cut a strip of kraft card and using a Xcut lace boarder punch add a decorative edge down one side. Cut another strip of patterned paper and glue it down the centre of the kraft card and then cut a length of beige ribbon and stick that over the patterned paper.
Cut out a medium sized frame from the Xcut oval frame set and then one in cream card using the oval nesting die set.

Stamp sentiment onto cram oval and stick frame over it before adding to the card.
Decorate with ribbon flowers, flower charms and pearls.
Glue a 6x6 velum insert inside card and stamp a message inside.

Thank you for visiting and the new Wedding Ever After range is now available in store

Scrapbook Layout Mum's Dolls using the Free Simply Floral Downloads

                                                                   Hi all

Today's layout is a nice vintage one about my mum's doll collection which she still owns. Maybe some of you had dolls like this and would like to share a memory or two in the comments section.

i used a mixture of the Simply Floral paper range and the free Simply Floral part 3 downloads. i used Jill's sketch

I cut the flowers out of a sheet of 12x12 paper. A lot of the patterns are large enough to cut around

and i cut the butterflies out and decorated them with self adhesive pearls in the centres

The digial downloads have a vintage feel to them

I am back with another blog hop with Smeared and Smudged. This time i have made my first art doll and will be swapping it with one lucky crafter.  I used a free template for the doll and used scraps of patterned paper to cover the body and tops of the arms.

I used a paper doily for the skirt by cutting it in half and folding it to make pleats. I then layered the two halves together and glued it down. I used pleated fabric for the top of the skirt and decorated it with cogs.

The head is off a Kenny K stamp which i coloured the head and stuck it over the template. I used a free hat digi and decorated it with feathers.

the legs are decorated with the Kaisercraft grid stamp to look like fishnets and i made the boots by cutting scrap paper into a rough boot shape and added lace to the top.

The arms i stamped with a lace textured stamp to look like long gloves.

Trimcraft Scrapbook Feature: Creating 6x6 layouts

In my next feature i show you how to create 6x6 layouts which are a great starting point for beginners. You can read the full article here http://www.trimcraft.co.uk/articles/how-to-scrapbook-with-smaller-paper-layouts

With 6x6 layouts you do not need to use a lot of  products to get a great looking page. here i cropped down a photo to 4x4 and cut lots of strips of paper up and layered them.

I clustered the accordion stickers together to create a focal point

Cut different shapes into the ends of strips of paper to keep it interesting

Create small embellishments by using small punches to cut out scraps of paper

Here is another layout i made using the 6x6 paper pads. I used Bright Spark for this page and added colour to white flowers by mixing neon patio paint with water and spraying it on with an small spray bottle.

A Mr Mister layout and

Hi all

I am back with a scrapbook page about the Northe Fort in Weymouth the views from this place are beautiful and there is a lot of history in this area to read about. It was scorching hot when we went so we was glad to go down in to the tunnels

A 12x12 layout made with the Mr Mister range by Papernania

I have used the Mr Mister range for this one and  had a go at using two photos on one layout this time.

I added a few rusty cogs and ink splashes to give it a weather worn feel

I use boarder stamps to build layers and add texture to backgrounds.

i was trying to photograph the little bird which sat and watched us until i tried to move closer for a better shot.

I thought i would show you some of my holiday snaps. This is a view of the old Porland harbour where a lot of ships were  prepared for battle.

We had a stunning view of Weymouth from the top of the fort, you had a 360 view of the resort.
