Creepy Haunted House Shadow Box With The Blank Page Muse Stamps

Its my favourite  time of the year when things get spooky. Check out my configuration  box i created using stamps by The Blank Page Muse.

Start off by painting the box with gesso and once dry paint the frame purple and the inside green and orange. 

Stamp out the halloween images and colour them with inks. Use different ink pads to create variety.

Stamp the Grunge Background stamp over the frame in black ink.

Begin to add the stamped images to the sections. Fill out the sections with faux cobwebs, faux moss and beads.

Use alphabet beads to spellout spooky words.

Keep adding layers of stamped images and charms to the box. Fill little glass bottles with micro beads and glitter to create potions.

Add gems to eyes to create  a spooky glow.

I made these plaques using wood slices and the Haunted Ephemera Halloween collage sheets which you can find here https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/202186604/haunted-ephemera-digital-collage-set?ga_search_query=Halloween&ref=shop_items_search_18

I used ink to dye paper flowers orange and stuck glass eye cabochons in the center . Then i used a few cutting dies with purple glitter card to add the sentiment and bats.

The numbers are cut out of craft foam to make them more 3D

This one is my favourite of the three. I used cheese cloth and ink to dye it the right colour, glued it to the base with heavy gel medium and then added the emphemera bits.

Bleeding Art October Challenge Blingy Skulls

Hi all

we have a new mixed media challenge starting up in October. It is a bit different to other mixed media challenges as we want to see your Canvases, Shrines, assemblages, anything free standing, anything that can be hung on the wall or that uses recycled items. I am sure you creative lot will have other ideas to share too.

Here is my first project for the October challenge and yes like a giddy child i have jumped straight into Halloween with these mixed media skulls.

I tried three different types of medium on each skull. This one is texture crackle paste and it dries like cracked stone so very lovely. I then painted it and covered it in as many gems as i could. I thought blinging up one side looked more edgy, well i saw this on Pinterest and had a go but it looks nothing like the original idea.

Skull number two was covered in cheesecloth you know that stuff 19th century mediums liked to regurgitate and pretend were ghosts. Anyway stuck to a skull and painted over with acrylic paint gives the project a nice texture.

I added a few beads first but it look bland so i added micro beads using heavy gel medium, It needed something else so i added a pile more pearl beads down the front to give it a full bling look. I added flowers to the other eye socket, i think it looks less creepy without a gaping hole for an eye but that is just me.

Skull number three was covered in texture sand paste which when dries looks like a stone surface. I painted it orange and then added bling to a chip board spider.

Got my eye on you : Halloween decorations using googly eyes

Hi all

i have a spooky make to share with you all.

These Halloween decorations are easy to make and all you need are some black Christmas baubles and some self adhesive googly eyes which you can buy in bulk of Ebay

All you have to do is peal off the back of the googly eyes  and stick them on, if you cant get the back off try using a pin but be careful.

You can paint the tops so that they are less shiny but on a black Christmas tree it helps show them up a bit. i used the smaller sized 4 inch  baubles and used the 7 mm googly eyes but  you can use the big ones and mix the sizes of the googly eyes up for a different effect.

I think the cat will have a field day with these, i am still finding the Christmas baubles all over the place.
