http://thememorynest.blogspot.co.uk/p/summer-challenges.html
Worcester is a town full of topsy turvey Tudor buildings. There are a lot of craft shops here and independent gift shops which you don't find in the city.  the cathedral  is beautiful with its many stain glass windows. the flowers on this layout were made using the Sizzix winter flowers die cutter and Tim Holtz tattered floral die and chipboard flowers covered in washi tape.

Life Paper Scrapbook August challenge: It Went Bump

this month I am going to combine the Sketch and colour challenge together from http://www.lifepaperscrapbook.com/2013/08/august-colour-challenge-team-a.html. The  moment I saw the colours I thought Halloween and then I thought of my trip to the most haunted museum in Britain, the Falstaff's museum. I was snapping some photos when I heard what sounded like static crackling behind me so I turned around and took photos. In one of those photos was a cluster of orbs which many say are signs of spirits. the sceptic in me is still looking for a rational explanation but the  whole museum is very creepy which makes it fascinating.
I used Basic Grey Granola for the back ground and Papermania  Chronology and Capsule collection Bexley Black papers for this project.
I made the flowers by covering bare chip board flowers with washi tape.

The Memory Nest Challenge 6

here is my entry for  challenge 6 @ http://thememorynest.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/summer-challenge-6.html. I've chosen another English Heritage building from a town called Litchfield. I seem to find myself visiting a lot of old buildings lately.
i used paper from the Joyeux Noel 12X12 paper pack as it had a rich design that fit in with the historical nature of the layout.  the die cuts are from Kaisercraft  Collectables range and is called Madame Boutique. They ink really well and I used Tim Holt Tea stain ink on them.
The title is made up of Tim Holtz Once Up On  A Time alphabet die cutter on plain black card.
i used paper string and covered it in chipboard flowers and buttons.
I use washi tape and covered a plain chip board flower to match the colour scheme.

The Memory Nest summer challenge #4

here's challenge no 4, I am trying to keep up. http://thememorynest.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/summer-challenge-reveal-and-share-4.html

the twist on this challenge is to used a pop of red and chevrons. I know its summer but I decided to get some of my Christmas photos out of the shoe box and into an album. some photos are so old I cant remember which Christmas it is but when your a kid its the same every year. being unable to sleep because your excited, getting loads of new toys and getting two weeks off school yay!. The one year I think I was about 7yrs old,  my Dad pretended to be Santa he wanted whisky and biscuits nice try Dad but its illegal to drink whilst flying reindeer. I cant remember what age I was when I stopped believing though, memory like a fish so its a good job I write everything in a journal.
for this project I used my old stash from Papermania which I need to get through so that I have a good excuse to buy new stash. some times I just buy stuff and pretend I've had it ages when the other half questions why my stash pile is growing. shh don't tell
I tried out my new Tim Holtz Snow flake rosette die and they come out really well so I'll be sticking them on every thing.
