How To Create The Work Of Art Journal page

Hi all

I am guest designer for the Magenta team this month and here is my first  project.

Start off by layering gesso over a blank page with a palette knife. Once dry, spritz green ink over the centre of the page and then use a paint brush to spread the ink out. Paint the edges of the journal page with green Acrylic paint.

Stamp the quote stamp into the centre and apply a stencil mask to the edges of the page.

Stamp the leaves stamp into the corners using green ink and then using a different shade f green stamp over the top with a leaf flourish.

How to create an inspiring canvas from recycled packaging.

Hi all

Waste not want not is a popular saying that rings true to us crafters, after all one person's trash is another's creative opportunity. In this tutorial i am going to show you how to use cardboard packaging and turn it into a work of art.

Tutorial

1) Coat the cardboard packaging with gesso.
2) Apply modeling paste with a mini stencil.

3) Add a layer of paint and ink, have fun and just create a colourful mess.

4) Stamp out the leaf lines stamp onto card.
5) Colour leaves with glimmer glaze

6) Repeat with flowers

7) Cutting out detailed stamps can be challenging, Stamp them onto your background first and use as an outline.
8) Just cut out the leaves and glue onto the corresponding outline.

9) Apply liquid glass to leaves and petals.
10) Cut out a few petals and use them to fill the gaps/
11) Add a sentiment

Inspiration Journal:You Need To Fall Before You Can Fly

Hi all

I am have been given some lovely stamps from Magenta Style to create a few projects with. So i created this art journal page using the Flower stamp and a variety of textures i found around the home. Learn how to create it below.

1) Spritz baby pink and sepia misting spray onto a blank page.
2)  Apply white gesso with a brayer, you can use a pallette knife for a neater look.
3) Apply modeling paste down the middle of the page using a mini stencil.
4) Spray more misting sprays across the page.
5) Stamp the flower out onto white cardstock and paint with glimmer glaze.
6)  Apply modeling paste over the top with a stencil and cut flowers out
7) Use drywall tape and dried baby wipes to add layers of texture to the page.
8) Glue twine along the centre of page.
9)  Place the flowers into position and then stamp a few delicate branches  in between the gaps.
10) Finish off by adding a sentiment and enamel dots to the page.
