Paint The Roses Red With Artful Days Goody Box

Hi all

I have recently joined the Artful Days Goodie Box Design Team and i will be starting with the October box when it becomes available but for now i have a card i made up using the August Goodie box which has a tea party or Alice theme.

Cover a blank square card with the 6 x 6 pattetened paper from the box.  Apply modeling paste using a stencil and omce set, spritz with red ink.

Apply gesso to one of the paper tags and then spritz wirh red ink. Glue this to the centre of the card.

Rip one of the cards into half and paint the bottom with red acrylic paint. Glue to top and bottom corner of the card.

Spritz cheese cloth with red spritzing ink and glue to tag once it has dried.

Paint one of the white foam roses red and leave to dry. Cut up one of the paper straws and glue them to the edge of the tag in a row. Glue the rose onto the top.

Artful Days August Kit Hello Sunshine Mixed Media Canvas

Hi all

I am back from my week holiday to Great Yarmouth which went way too fast but you know what they say when you are having fun. The weather was warm and sunny until the last day so its been a fab break and now i need to work off all that ice cream. Anyway I bought my first Artful Days Theme box last month but i have only just found time to sit down and make something with it. My Father in law was taken ill at the end of August so i have fell behind a bit but i have some of my October makes ready.

I made a mini canvas using the kit 

I first covered the canvas with gesso and let it dry before adding textures to it using stencils. I then painted it with DecoArt Crafters Acrylic and used texture stamps over the top.

I used the MDF sentiment as the focus for the canvas which i painted with dark blue paint first before adding weathered Wood Crackle Medium and then a layer of White crackle pain. Leave each layer to dry completely before adding the next layer. I finished off the letters using Patina Antiquating cream and glued sequins around the letters.

I added Sequins, gems and shells around the canvas. I love the little starfish cabs which glimmer in the light.

The kit comes with a lot of embellishments and papers so you have plenty to play with.
