Gecko Galz Steampunk Artist Trading Block

Hello all
This week i have a Artist Trading Block to share using digital papers and collage sheets from Gecko Galz.

Products used
DecoArt Texture Sand Paste
DecoArt Quincodone Gold Premium Acrylic Paint
ATB 3 inch and 5 inch Fernli Designs

I started off by using a square cutting die to cut out the paper pack to fit the ATB.
Next i added texture sand paste around the edges of the block and once set, i painted it with Quinacridone Gold Acrylic Paint.

I repeated the previous steps with the wings and clock parts too.
I then cut out the clocks and glued them on.
 Then added the rusted embellishments.

I reused a cotton bobbin that i had lying around from an old project. Ijust painted the top and base before adding the doll to the top. I added a large blob of texture sand paste and then pressed a piece of MDF in so i could prop the doll up.

The Blank Page Muse Stamps Light Bulb Tags

Hello all

These gift tags are really quick and easy to make.

Stamp the light bulb onto the center of the tag.
Colour in using yellow markers and use a darker yellow around the edge of the stamp.
Stamp the sentiments under the bulb.
If the sentiment stamp is too long, you can cut the words up so you can make room.

Colourcraft Guest Designer Galaxy Effect Card

Hello all

I am guest designer today and i am going to show you how to make a space themed card.

Start off by mixing a bit of Black Brusho Powder in with water. Then take a makeup sponge and dab it onto a card blank. Leave white spaces so that you can add other colours later.

Next take Turquoise, Purple and Crimson Red Brusho powders and sprinkle them on. wet with water so they spread out. Dry off with a heat gun on a low setting so you don't blow the ink off the card.

i discovered that the SprinkleIt powders create this milky way sort of effect when sprinkled onto a dark background so sprinkle away until you have this dense night sky look. Add it while the ink is wet so it stays put. You can get this fabulous stuff here  and the brusho powders are here.

Next add a stencil over the card.
I used a tiny splatter one but it started to come out chunky so i then took a paint brush and flicked on some white paint. mix the paint with water to get a fine spray.

Lastly i coloured in the stamps with markers and glued them onto the card along with a sentiment.

Emerald Creek Crafts April Showers Art Journal

Hi all
It is usually Spring in my part of the world but it is taking a while to warm up. we are having an unusually dry April at the moment. Any way here is my art journal entry for this month's theme.

Paint with gesso first and when it is nearly dry, paint on a light blue acrylic paint with a make up sponge.
Next layer up a few darker blue colours, just paint them on lightly so each colour isn't fully covered.

Stamp around the edges with a texture stamp and then use a stencil to apply a modeling paste through a stencil. Sprinkle on the Mermaid Fin Embossing Powder and then heat to set.

Stamp on the Carnation stamp in the corners of the pages and then stamp some out onto card.
Colour the flowers with watercolour paints and then cut them out so that they can be glued onto the page.
Add journaling to finish

Hellgnome's Death Digis Great Space Adventure Art Journal

Hello all

I have a new mixed media art journal layout to share with you. I have gone for a space theme so three guess which Sci Fi movie this is a nod too.

The background is painted black first and then i blended in blue tones. Then i added a bit of magenta to the edges to make it look a bit more like space. I then added SprinkleIt to the center of the pages, this stuff is great as it adds a crunchy texture and it shimmers. I finished off the background by flicking white paint over the top so it looks like stars.

The images have been coloured in with marker pens.

Emerald Creek Crafts Motivation Fairy Art Journal Page

Hello all

I am back with another project for Emerald Creek Crafts this month. As some of you may know, i started my weight loss journey in March last year and to date i have lost 2st 2lb. However sometimes the weight does not come off for a few weeks and it is frustrating. So i created the motivation fairy as part of my motivation art journal. I thought over the next few weeks i could create a page to put in the folder to keep me going lol.

Product list
Ranger Archival Inks  Vibrant Fuchsia

I started off by using a StencilGirl (R) mask to add heavy gel medium to the page and then i sprinkled on Rocky Road Embossing Powder. It made me crave a Rocky Road bar so i switched to Dragons Egg for the next layer.

Then i added layers of Lindy's Magicals and let it all dry.

I added the stamps to the background and embossed them with Dragons Egg Embossing Powder.

I printed off a sheet of paper dolls and just cut out the pieces, Then arranged them on the page and glued them down. I then added little quotes to finish the page.
