Artful Days Beach Artist Trading Coins

Hello all

We are in the full swing of summer and i wanted to capture that in these little artist trading coins by giving them a beachy rockpool theme. It has been so long since i explored the rockpools after the tide has gone.

All products are available from Artful Days

Shell Cabochons

I stamped over the background with a texture stamp using two colours. Then i dyed some cheese cloth sea green using ink and let that dry before cutting it up and gluing it to the coins.

Next i took the bits from the ephemera and glued them down. I used 3d foam pads to layer up the shells.

I then decorated the coins using beads and gems. I also added a bit of fake moss to give it a more rock pool look to it.

Thank you for visiting

Berry71bleu june challenge

http://berry71bleu.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/june-challenge-what-is-thing-you-love.html playing along with berry71bleu.
My favourite thing to do in the summer is to go down to the beach and search for little souvenirs. with each beach i visit i find something different.

i used the Ahoy There stamps to create these little beach hut buttons from shrink plastic.
In used papermania textured cardstock and inked it to give it a shaded effect.
i used the cut outs that were leftover from my Tim Holtz Vintage Market Alpha die to create a mirror effect in the title.

products used:
Papermania Happy Days
Papermania Ahoy There stamps
Ranger shrink plastic
Amy Tangerine Yes Please
Capsule collection A5 Texture cardstock
Spots and Stripes washi tape
Brushido crystal ink turquoise

i never thought that any of my layouts would make it into a scrapbook magazine and was very surprised to see my Exmouth layout printed in the your layouts section.  it just shows that you have to be brave and just go for it even if you think you have no chance of winning.

i used papermania capsule collection and basic grey. i dyed some old book pages with Brushido dye and used the sizzix shell set .
i typed the journaling out on a computer and i drew around the letters to create a boarder and cut them out.
