Things To Alter DT: Steampunk Necklace

                                                              Hi all

i am back with another post to show off this charm necklace i made using the steampuink MDF pieces form Things To Alter. I recently bought a Crop-a-dile so  i couldn't wait to have a play about with it and i am impressed.

I used the Dreaming Lady piece and i coloured the cogs in with Tim Holtz Distress Markers before using the rust effect on the rest of the head.

I used gun metal chain and cut it to about 20in before punching a hole in the top of the MDF pieces. I used the cogs grab bag to create the rusted charms with and then added offer charms around them to create the charm necklace.

I used Cinnamon to add the rust texture and the more lumpy and uneven the better.

Thank you for visiting and you can find the MDF pieces in the shop http://thingstoalter.co.uk/.

we have also launched our new Facebook group where you can share your mixed media makes https://www.facebook.com/groups/1578437669085933/

Docrafts PDT Button Jewellery with Pocket Full Of Posies

Hi all

I am sharing my PDT project for this month and i've tried a bit of jewellery making using the charm pack from the Pocket Full Of Posies collection.

Here is a cute button and charm bracelet i made. I used a length of chain and measured it around my wrist to get the sizing correct. I used 20mm and 35mm eye pins to thread the buttons and charms on with. I grabbed the end of the pin with my pliers and wrapped it around the top.

To make the frame charms i drew around the frames onto a sheet of patterned paper and then cut them to fit before flooding the charm with Anita's Glossy Accents an idea i borrowed off Becky.

The necklace is simple to make.
Take a length of chain and once you have the correct length open up the links and add a  lobster clasp and jump ring so it can be opened if needed. The pendant was made using a larger round metal frame from the charm pack. I took a small white posy from the Papernania mulberry flowers pack and spritzed it with Cardinal red and gold spritzing inks. Once dry i adhered it to the frame with a blob of glossy accents and then flooded it with more glossy accents and placed a gem in the middle before it dried.

Earrings

Quick and easy all i did was thread 35mm eye pins through some small buttons and added jump rings so i could attach more buttons and earring hooks.

Festive Fun Day 6: tacky earrings and other Christmas Jewelry

Hello this will be my last post for this year while i balance the festivities of this time of year with crafting and work. Before i start i would like to thank everyone for their support for 2014.

My Christmas started yesterday on Chrismas Eve when i went to mum's for dinner. We got so drunk we nearly over cooked the dinner and mum's cat Romeo nicked half a joint of gammon. I have no idea how he ate that so fast but we had to laugh. Next year we will order a takeaway lol.

Its been a while since i made any jewelry but my mum likes those tacky baubles dangling earrings that are all the rage at the moment. i said why pay over £3 for a pair when i can grab some of my small tree ornaments and convert them into ear wear.

These ones are made with a selection of beads and charms. I just threaded them a long a head pin, the ones with a loop and the turned up the end with pliers to add the charm on the end.

Thank you for visiting and i will be back in January introducing the new First Edition Die sets and Little Meow paper set with a new tutorial.

Merry Christmas and Happy New.

the hot weather has been reminding me of the days spent beside the sea. so heres my nautical bracelet. ive been making  charms using shrink plastic. the ahoy there stamp set are just the right size and are not too tiny when they are shrunk down.
