The Vintage File World War 2 Scrapbook page

Hi all

I have a war themed scrapbook page to share today from my article in The Vintage File magazine. I have a photo of my Great Uncle Victor and his troops in their uniforms. I don't know a lot about the photo or if he ever fought overseas. He was one of the lucky ones who survived the war and i wonder how many of his troop made it back. If you have any war stories please share in the comments as i would love to hear them weather you are from the UK or overseas.

I am lucky enough to still have my Nan's Ration book which i scanned onto the computer and printed out onto card stock. I Scan all of the old photos as they deteriorate over time and sometimes the glue from the old albums turns them yellow and brittle. I used the Madame Payraud's paper collection by Docrafts for this layout as it is full of vintage advertisements which i cut up and layered together.

The poppy is from the Trimcraft First Edition Layered Flowers set and i just used textured card stock to cut the bits out of.

Here is the inside of a ration book from the 1940's. My Nan used to tell me how the sirens would go off and everyone would have to go own to the bunker of cellar if they had one. It's  hard to imagine what that must have been like as it could go off at anytime and everything would be pitch black as the cities would turn the lights off. My Nan was 19 years old at the time and worked in the factories making ammunition parts before the war it made hair clips. It was common practice for factories to convert to making goods for the troops and this is the time when Women were allowed to go to work for the first time. A strange idea nowadays.

I have a thing for bunting and i had to add it as part of my title. I used a 2 in 1 tag punch from Fiskars and stamped the letters on. If you smudge it by mistake then stamp onto card first and cut them out or use a circle punch if it will fit over the letters.

Thank you for visiting and i hope to hear some of your war stories soon.

Spring themed ATCs

Hi all

I am back with a cute set of ATCs i made for a swap

This one i made by spritzing the card and stamping the background. I then layered up strips of paper and ribbon. The honeycomb is part of an MDF mask i cut up.

I was trying out the new Geometric stamp set from Docrafts for this one and stamped the background.

I used the DecoArt Metallic Lustre to colour the MDF pieces

Thank you for visiting and i will be back to show you the ATCs i have received

Here are the ones i was given

Final Docrafts PDT project

Hi all
I have another page to share from my Geometric Neon smashbook. It is my final project for the Docrafts PDT as i found out yesterday that i was not successful in joining the team for another year but two of my teamies made it so not all bad. I don't know what the future will hold from this point on but I am fortunate to be on the Trimcraft Team and it is going to be a busy year full of new releases. I will be doing more mixed media with Things to Alter and hopefully Susan K Weckesser's team. The craft industry is forever changing and nothing is written in stone so maybe a new door will open in the future.

Sometimes less is more and with the mini books its best not to overcrowd

I used the little stickers to write short notes on which is great if journaling isn't your thing

There are no rules to creating a smashbook, you dont even have to follow any kind of layout like you would with scrpbooking.

Docrafts PDT Capsule Collection Geometric Mono Cards

Hi all

I have some quick cards to show you using the Capsule Collection Geometric Mono Collection which you can see more of here www.docrafts.com

I used the die-cuts from the Ultimate Die-cut pack to create the layers and add a sentiment. Everything is all ready cut and coordinating for quick projects.

I added the neon adhesive dots to add a pop of colour

This card i made by taking one of the die-cut journal cards and cutting out the centre, which i covered with velum. I then added 3d foam tape around the edges and put some sequins inside before adhering to the card.

I used the die-cut pieces to create the detail in the corner and sentiment.

Thank you for looking

Docrafts PDT Capsule Collection Geometric Neon Scrapbook Page 2

Hi all

I have a new page from my mini book which is a fab place to start if you are new to scrapbooking as it is smaller in size and great if you like to print your own photos. They come in two colours Neon and Mono but we will soon have Mocha but Shh nobody knows that yet ;). Please keep you fingers crossed for me as i apply for another term  with the Docrafts Team who will be doing a blog hop this weekend to wave off the old team.

I have kept the page simple by matting my 4x4 photo on to a slightly larger background and then staggering another piece at an angle.

The flag is cut out of one of the tabs which come in a little book and i love the enamel stckers

sometime less is more and a more simple layout will draw more attention to the photo.

HSC Samples for Docafts: Mixed Media Home Decor Projects

Hi all

Over the next few weeks i will be sharing my samples i made for the Docrafts show on Home Shopping Channel  in the US. I am stating off with the altered projects ts using the Bare Basics collection.

I used Artiste Acrylic paint as a primer before using the Trad Flower stamp set to decorate the frame.

This is one of the Bare Basics boxes which come in a set of three sizes. I stamped onto plain card and cut out a few flowers to decorate the centre of the box with.

Here i used white acrylic paint to coat the letters before using the Trad Flower Stamp Set to create different floral prints.

I used the Bare Basics Bunting and wooden letters to create this floral themed banner.
