Paint the frame black and leave to dry. Next add a thick layer of crackle paste and once set apply a stencil mask to the frame and base.

Stick down the chipboard pieces and other bits. 

Paint on more white gesso and leave to dry

Spray with Canvas Corp Brands Tarnished Silver and then spray with Rusty Red.

Then add heavy gel medium and add micro beads, sand, glass beads until it is nice and crunchy looking.

Paint the mdf hearts with metallic luster and add letters. 

Then add more crunch to it

Artful days Steampunk Canvas Goddess Of Time

Hi all

I have a new mixed media canvas to share  today using items available at  Artful Days

I started off by painting the base with black gesso and then sticking down all the embellishments and then painting it again with black gesso.

The focal point was made by gluing a resin face to the metal frame and then sticking that to a mdf spoon.

once the first layer was done i then painted the main pieces with white gesso and then spritzed the centre of the canvas with copper and scarlet sprays before spraying violet over the rest of the canvas.

I added the micro beads and glass chips using gel medium

i painted the word with the rust paste so it would stand out.

Colourcraft Love Heart Valentine's Day Mixed Media Canvas

Hello crafty friends

I am back with a love themed project today for Colourcraft.

These wooden hearts are available at The Works for a pound.

Start off by applying gesso to a heart shaped plaque. 

Add a layer of crackle paint and allow it to set.

Allow first layer to dry and then apply a stencil around the plaque and leave to set.

Spritz water over the base and sprinkle on OST Red and Rose Red Brusho Crystal Powders.

Once dry take a selection of embellishments, lace, wooden shapes and charms. glue them down the centre of the plaque and allow the glue to set before painting everything with a coat or two of white gesso.

 Then spray with Scarlet and Copper Misting Sprays/

Add a few blobs of glue around the canvas and sprinkle on glass glitter and micro beads.

Time Mixed Media Canvas With Brusho Crystal Powders

Hello all

I am going to teach you how to create this mixed media canvas using Brusho Crystal Powders.

Start off by applying gesso to the blank canvas and then gather a thick blob of modeling paste on the end of a pallet knife. Apply the blobs of modeling paste to the canvas spreading it thickly in the desired place.

Sprinkle glass glitter and various art stones over the modeling paste and pat down carefully with a palette knife. allow the modeling paste to set a bit before sprinkling  Turquoise and Purple over the background. Apply water over the powders and use a brush to control the flow of colour.

Paint a wooden frame with gesso and then gold Aztec Eco Metallic Luster. The wings and face and made by squashing paper clay into a silicone mold. It takes about a day for them to set but the clay is firm enough to pop out of the mold so you can make a batch up. Paint everything in gold and allow to dry.

Glue the wings and face onto the frame and then glue a second pair of wings to the side of the frame. Add clusters of flowers and metal charms across the canvas and add a title to finish

Canvas Corp Brands 4x4 Canvas Be Bold

Hi all

I made this mini canvas to be used as my profile pic for Canvas Corp Crew. I was playing with neon acrylic paints at the time, My word for this year is Bold so that is the theme i went with.

I just added a layer of neon paint and then went over the top with bands of white gesso. Then added wash tapes in between.

Calico Craft Parts Design Team Call

                                        Hi everyone

You know how much i like to alter wood and stick it to things right? Well this is my entry for the Calico Craft  Parts Design Team.

                                     Here are three of my newest projects using MDF shapes.

Here is a canvas i made using a stencil to build the clock and decorated with MDF Clock Hands and Cogs. I love cogs so they are on nearly everything.

This is my cage doll that was constructed from several MDF pieces to make the doll and the cage. I impressed the shop owner so much it is now available as a kit. 

I also make jewelry from MDF pieces and since acquiring a Crop-a-dile that means i will be able to construct anything using MDF. I am also a card maker and scrapbooker so i will be creating a variety of different projects to share.

Tando Creative April Challenge.

I am going to share my canvas i made using Tando creative masks and DecoArt products. This started life as a canvas wall hanging i bought from Cancer Research for 50p.

 This is an old project that i have spruced up a bit starting with changing the letters so that the sentiment shows up better.

The butterfly was a bare wooden shape that i covered in modeling paste and spritzed inks over. I let the ink drip down onto the canvas for added effect.

I've painted the edges of the canvas with the Americana Decor chalky finish paint so that it blends in better.

Here i have played around with the DecoArt crackle past which i have painted over with Antiquing cream and left to dry.
