IKE's Art Photo Inspiration: Dis Cracker Iz Mine Christmas Card

Hi all

I am posting my make for IKE's Art Challenge http://ikesworldchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/. We will be on the Christmas break until January.

Well the Christmas Tree has survived so far but i hear the odd thud as one of the cats gives the baubles a whack but so far they haven't tried to climb it. I have the presents wrapped and most of the shopping done so bring it on i have Vodka and Brandy at the ready.

I used Crackercat because mine are crackers too but i just thought he looked cute before ripping that thing to bits. I can just picture the carnage now. The papers are from the First Edition A Christmas Story paper pad. 

I colored in the image using Prima Watercolor pastels and just used a water brush to paint the color on starting with more color around the edges of the image and moving the color out into the center.

Whisker Graphics Christmas Shaker Card

Hello crafty friends

The festive season has just begun and now i can start sharing more Christmas makes. I don't like starting in the summer it just doesn't feel the same but in the craft industry it starts in June so you can imagine it all getting a bit much by December. 

This card is simple to recreate all you need is a large Glassine Bitty Bag and a handful of sequins to get this project started. cover a 6 x 6 card with your favourite Christmas paper and trim the bag to fit. Fill with a handful of Sequins and seal the top with gold washi tape.

Wrap Green and White Divine Twine around the top and hold in place with tape. Cut out two fish tail banners and layer together before adhering to the corner.

Finish by adding some holly and a sentiment.

Trimcraft Christmas First Edition A Christmas Story

Hi all 

I have a couple of Christmas cards i made up using the First Edition A Christmas Story paper pad.

I added one of the Gold doilies from the Dovecraft Basics collection and just built up from there.

The little stick on poinsettias are part of the Winter Blooms collection and are made of mulberry paper. 

Same paper collection but this time i painted up a mdf word and used it as a sentiment.

I wanted to give it a rich feel so i added red and green gems from the Dovecraft Basics collection

Trimcraft Christmas First Edition Christmas Promise

Hi all 

I am back with a few Christmas cards made using the lovely Christmas Promise paper pad

1. Cover a 6 x 6 card blank with patterned paper
2. Take another sheet of paper and punch along the top with a boarder punch before adhering to top of card
3. Cut a strip of paper and adhere across the middle of the top layer
4. Stick a strip of washi tape across top of card
5. Die-cut two leaves and adhere to top right of the card
6. Thread a few bells through twine and wrap around the top of the card. Hold in place with tape.
7. Paint a wooden embellishment and thread through twine and wrap over the top of card. 
8. Finish by adding a sentiment

1. Take a 6 x 6 card and paint the top half with DecoArt Black Gesso and leave to dry
2. Next paint over with DecoArt Crackle Medium and once dry paint over with DecoArt Crackle Paint
3. Finish the top part off by painting with grey paint
4. Cover the other half of the card with Christmas Promise paper and adhere a length of ribbon across the middle.
5. Cut out a wreath from green card stock
6. Cut out a few snow flakes from glitter card and adhere to wreath
7. Cut out a bow from kraft card and stick it at the bottom of the wreath
8. Finish card by cutting out a sentiment 

Cover a 5x7 card with paper
Place another layer of paper over the top at an angle and trim to fit before gluing down
Place a gold doily on the top left corner ans trim off excess
Add a sentiment from the First Edition Sentiments Die Set
Add a length of gold washi tape across bottom and finish with a wooden embellishment.

Trimcraft Scrapbook Workshop July: Paradise Crush Summer Holiday Layout

I am back with my Scrapbook Workshop for July. You can find the full tutorial over on the Trimcraft blog.

I wanted to create a  layout that reminded me of summer so i used the new First Edition Paradise Crush papers  to create this bright holiday layout.

this is the large shell from the First Edition Beach Die Set. They look great with pearls and flowers stuck to the centers.

This is a close up to show how you can layer the dies and paper flowers together to create unique combinations.

I drew around the Photo Frames so i can add patterned paper to them. They are great for coloring over with inks or just writing onto for journaling.

These are the new Alphabet stickers from our Simply Creative brand. They are very good quality and come in different textures such as chipboard. Foam and Glitter.

Trimcraft Introducing First Edition Wild At Heart

Hi all

I have a few makes using the First Edition Wild At Heart paper pads to share today.

Take a blank tag. I use the 11 cm by 6 cm size which are available in most stationery shops.

Cover the tag in patterned paper

cut out a strip of paper and cut the ends off at an angle and stick to tag

using the new boarders die set. cut out one of the boarders and glue next to the first strip

Cut out a small 6 cm  circle from the Scalloped Circle Die Set and glue to center of tag using 3D foam pads.

using the stag print from the 6 x6 pad, place a small circle die over it and hold in place with washi tape before cutting out.

glue it to the center of the circle.

cut a strip of ribbon out and glue the ends together before adhering to top of the tag

Using the Nature Die Set, cut out a few leaves and slot behind the topper

Cut out a thin strip from plain card or paper and then cut out the Thank You sentiment using the Traditional Sentiments Die Set

Cut the sentiment into two separate words and glue to the strip and then trim it to fit onto the tag.

Finish off with a few sequins

Cover a 6x6 card blank with patterned paper

Cut out a square 10 cm x 10 cm and glue to the centre of the card

Cut out a strip 15 cm long and 5 cm across and glue to the edge of the 10 x 10 square

Next cut out a mixture of different sized circles using the Scalloped Circle Die set and layer them together.

Arrange the circles around the card and once happy with their position you can stick them down

Decorate the circle centers with buttons, resin flowers and die-cut butterflies.

Take a 5 x7 card blank and cover half with embossed patterned paper and half with another pattern

Next cut a rectangle 15 cm by 8 cm and glue to center of card

Glue a length of ribbon across the card center

Cut out one of the larger circles from the Scalloped Circle Die Set

Take the stag print paper sheet from the 12 x12 paper pad and line up a scalloped circle die so that it frames the image. Cut it out with a die cut machine and layer over the larger circle to make a topper

Decorate around the circle with a cluster of paper blossoms and buttons

Trimcraft Introducing First Edition Paradise Crush

Hi all

I am back with some makes i made using the new First Edition Paradise Crush. 

I started  off with a mixed media tag which i created using DecoArt Media Spritzing Inks.

I placed a bit of patterned paper in the corner and built up the layers using a few strips of paper.

I cut out a flamingo and flowers and placed them over the first layer.

I used the new First Edition Nature die set and cut out the dragonfly. I used the new Dovecraft 3D Effects on the wings and body.

My next card has lots of layers. I cut up the 6x6 pad into different sized strips and just experimented with their position on the card before i glued them down. Most of my projects are created without any sort of planning.

This is one of the sentiments from the First Edition Modern Sentiments set. I cut it our and backed it on to pale colored paper so that the sentiment will show through.

I wanted to create a bright card full of color so i flicked and spritzed DecoArt  Media Spritzing inks over the card.

I wanted to change the way the layers are set up on this card so i  decided to build the layers from the corner of the card.

I used the new Scalloped Circle Dies Set  with the Nature set and then used the 3D  Effects around the circle.
