Artful Days Mermaid Journal Cover

Hi all
I have altered a MDF Book cover by SamanthaK using products available at Artful Days

Product links

Paint the mdf book cover white and let it dry. Then paint it turquoise and let it dry before applying a stencil mask. I use modeling paste and only used part of the stencil to give it a distressed look.

Dye some cheese cloth with blue and green ink and dry it off with a heat gun.  Glue it down the book and then apply heavy gel medium to the cover. Sprinkle on microbeads, drew drops and mermaid beads.

Take the resin pieces and paint them turquoise, Next apply texture paste over them and once this has set, paint with quinedone gold fluid acrylic.

Paint part of the book cover with yellow-green acrylic paint and apply more texture paste around the edges. Add more quinacridone gold over the top to create a rusty look.

One the back of the book i covered it in a stencil mask and  sprinkle over Cathedral Pines Magicals and apply water to spread the colour. Then apply yellow-green acrylic paint mixed with a little water. The final layer is texture paste and quinacridone gold acrylic paint.

Artful Days Beach Artist Trading Coins

Hello all

We are in the full swing of summer and i wanted to capture that in these little artist trading coins by giving them a beachy rockpool theme. It has been so long since i explored the rockpools after the tide has gone.

All products are available from Artful Days

Shell Cabochons

I stamped over the background with a texture stamp using two colours. Then i dyed some cheese cloth sea green using ink and let that dry before cutting it up and gluing it to the coins.

Next i took the bits from the ephemera and glued them down. I used 3d foam pads to layer up the shells.

I then decorated the coins using beads and gems. I also added a bit of fake moss to give it a more rock pool look to it.

Canvas Corp Brands Altered Canvas Art Journal

Hello all

I have this awesome little canvas book to share with you today.

For the cover, i started off by coating it in white gesso and then adding a stencil.

I then used a mixture of Tattered Angle Sprays and paints to add colour.

I then added heavy gel medium to the base and added glass glitter before adding more inks. I then took the Architextures Sticker and painted it with rust paint. Once dry i then dry brushed it with High Impact Paint.

For the inside pages, i coated them all in white gesso first and then took tattered angel sprays and added patches of colour.

I then added some stencils with modeling paste

I used High Impact paint and Glimmer Glaze to add more colour

For the next pages, i sprayed with different tones of blue inks to get a space look.

I then added some stars using a stencil.

#STENCILGIRL, #THESTENCILFIEDJOURNAL, Prompt 8

Hi all

I am back with prompt 8 of our little challenge. I attempted to stencil with glue by spreading it over  the stencil like modeling paste. It did sort of hold the shape but it also bled under the stencil a bit. I added embossing powder on one side and left the other as a crinkled mess on the other side

#STENCILGIRL, #THESTENCILFIEDJOURNAL, Prompt 7

Hi all

I am back with the 7th journal prompt of the challenge, along with my interpretation of it.

I used acrylic paints on the background and layered up orange, yellow and red. I then created the page boarder using texture stamps.

I reused the punched out circles from the previous prompt as it was a shame to waste them.

Thank you for visiting.

I am back with a quick make for The Blank Page Muse using the new mini steampunk stamps. I think these are great for ATCs and mini art.

Use mist sprays on the base and then use texture stamps on the background. Use different coloured inks that compliment each other to create layers.

Stamp the images out onto card and spray with sepia ink. Use different inks on the stamps to create a bit more interest.

Decorate with tiny cogs, gems and mini words.
