I forgot to add in the video that i used gloss enamel on the tops of the clips to make the tops more robust. I painted the clip part and used a matte medium to seal it but whether the paint will stay on is another thing.

The Crafting pouch is good for untacking the glue and the Embellie Gellie makes picking up little bits easier.

I created these planner clips to mark the months out in my planner book.
Here is a tutorial video

And here are some close ups.

The Vintage File Issue 1 Rockabilly Themed Brooch Card Get A Free Copy Of Issue 1

Hi everyone

I have some more exciting news to share!!
I have been asked to be the resident designer for The Vintage File an online magazine that is about all things vintage from crafts to cars. Here is a link to their social media
Facebook: @TheVintageFile
Twitter: @TheVintageFile

If you sign up to the news letter you get a copy of issue 1 completely free

I had a Rockabilly theme to work with and i do love the 1950s. It is the era of rock and roll as the United States became a major global influence on the world after the second world war. The idea for this card started off as a brooch made out of a MDF Shape from Things to Alter.

The main card was made using the Red Hot Rockabilly Collection by Lelli-bot crafts. I covered a 6x6 card with polka dot paper and then added a 4 cm x 4 cm square in the top corner. I took a piece of Denim material and cut it into a pocket shape before adding stitching around it.

For the brooch i painted the MDF shape with DecoArt Crafters Acrylics and draw the lines back in with a black marker. I then punched in some holes and added the charms.

Here is my article which i will be in once a month

Thank you for visiting and comments are welcome :)

Gecko Galz DT: Featuring Spring is approching and a Free stamp to download

Hi all

I am back with my first blog feature for the Gecko Galz Design Team. I have used the new Spring Gems Stamp Set which is released this month. With the unusually mild weather over in the UK it feels like Spring has sprung, Even the flowers are fooled but Easter will soon be here so time for some inspiration.

The background was created using Pan Pastels and i used a stencil mask over the top to add texture.

I coloured the stamp in and used flowers for the head dress

Here is a simple card using the Baroquen Dreams Stamps

IKE'S Art Show Us Your Pussies Challenge: Catmouse Tree Free Stamp

Yes we are referring to cats and i have a new card to share for those cat lovers. Here is a link to the new challenge blog http://showusyourpussies.blogspot.gr/2015/11/show-us-your-pussies-challenge-1-krimbo.html

I have used the Catmouse Tree digi stamp that is yours for free from the IKE  http://showusyourpussies.blogspot.gr/2015/11/are-you-brushing-up-them-kitties.html

And if you would like to join our facebook group it is here https://www.facebook.com/groups/IkesArtFanPage/?fref=ts

So here is my card using the free stamp from the blog. Its perfect for cat lovers and is most likely what many cat owners trees actually look like. You could try surrounding the tree with empty boxes in an attempt to distract them from the sparkly bulbuls your cats are plotting to murder. Failing that add extra bulbuls to the bottom of the tree and super glue your best decorations to the tree.

Here is a close up of the stamp, Pink kitties are a popular fashion accessory in  Russia but i wouldn't advise dyeing any kitten as its both deadly and will result in said kitten plotting to kill you after. But seriously don't dye your cat its just stupid and cruel.

Scrapbook Layout Mum's Dolls using the Free Simply Floral Downloads

                                                                   Hi all

Today's layout is a nice vintage one about my mum's doll collection which she still owns. Maybe some of you had dolls like this and would like to share a memory or two in the comments section.

i used a mixture of the Simply Floral paper range and the free Simply Floral part 3 downloads. i used Jill's sketch

I cut the flowers out of a sheet of 12x12 paper. A lot of the patterns are large enough to cut around

and i cut the butterflies out and decorated them with self adhesive pearls in the centres

The digial downloads have a vintage feel to them

Thanks for visiting and if you would like to make something with the freebies here is the link https://docrafts.com/Downloads/Search/1/12/All

Free The Chevron Collection digital download and a project to share

I am busy on the blog today and catching up with all the projects i want to share. Here is an older project i made with the Chevron collection that is available for free on the Docrafts website

i added splashes of spritzing inks over the card before adding the layers. i used Cardinal Red, Midnight and Mint green.

i have cut out the large chevrons and mounted them onto acetate so that they float above the layers. The stamps are free with creativity mag and they are one of my favourite sets.

The sentiment is from the Graffiti collection which is also free to download and print.

I coloured the hearts in with the Artiste Water colour pens which are really easy to use even for a complete novice like me.

Thank you for visiting

An alternative to the usual soppy Valentines cards

Hi today i thought i would spare you all from the usually fluffy and pink valentines theme and share with you something  a little different. For these projects i have used the free Graffiti papers available free on the Docrafts site. you can get them here  https://www.docrafts.com/Inspiration/Downloads/graffiti-collection/274

i used the Gorjuss girl A4 decoupage kits, the Gorjuss girl range will be returning in March so keep a look out for her. Most of this card was made using the free printable which include sentiments and an alphabet.

the basic principle behind mixed media is to add texture using a variety of inks and mediums such as gesso and texture paste. you can be as messy as you want or you can add a subtle amount. here i squeezed some Artiste Acrylic paint on to my finger and rubbed it around the edges to create this grungy frame. I cut the rose from the Xcut love icons die set and used black card to add to its Gothic look.

This is just a simple layered card using the heart punch and nesting dies

for more projects and free downloads visit www.docrafts.com.
