Trimcraft Scrapbook Feature June

Hi all
i am back with a new layout using the Mirabelle range. If you love this then you will love the new Santoro Willow range which will be in my next feature. You can find detailed step by steps to make this layout on the Trimcraft site here  http://www.trimcraft.co.uk/articles/how-to-scrapbook-with-recycled-materials

I wanted to create a layout that  reused packaging. The background was created by using DecoArt Misters and creating splats by unscrewing the cap and spraying the ink out while holding the lid upright.

Mirabelle is one of my favourite ranges next to Willow. Lots of lovely textured prints and sparkles.  I have used diffetent dies and materials to create interesting layers.

love wooden embelishments as you can paint and distress them for a unique look. I painted it with DecoArt White Crackle Paste and then painting over that with the Antiquing Cream.

I think one of my fav die sets is the First Edition tag set as its so versatile.

Thank you for popping in and please feel free to pop over to the Trimcraft website for more lovely projects by our trimmie family.

Ike's Art Challenge #39 Lyrics

Hi all
something a bit x-rated today so here is an image of a big fluffy sheep in-case you want to turn and run now.

you peeked didn't you ;)
i did warn you
i am playing along with Ike's World Challenge where we have to use song lyrics on our projects and use one of Ike's stamps so i choose Long Tall Latex Sally and Lady Gaga Bad Romance. good match eh?

I had these flower stickers in my stash i must have had them about 5 years so i used them along with the these old Papermania alphabet stickers that kept floating about.

I used glitter black gel pen to colour her in and now she is shiny.

Thanks for looking

Willow Steampunk scrapbook album

Hi all

i am back today with a upcycled scrapbook album. I used the new Willow range from Trimcraft to make this with.

I am linking up with the Tando Creative Anything goes June Challenge

I started off by taking the album apart and painting two coats of DecoArt White Chalk finish paint over the front and back and leaving to dry. After i coated the album in Deco mache adhesive varnish painting it on both the top and bottom of the deco mache to stick it down.

The frame was already apart of the album so i took it off painted it in white and then black paint. i added crackle medium to it and rubbed gold metallic luster across to show up the cracks

The cogs i made by cutting out a mixture of shapes using both the First Edition die set and the Willow steel die set. i used kraft card and a mixture of embossing powder and Metallic Luster to make them metallic. i then over layered them around the frame and glued them down.

I used the Script die set to add a sentiment to the front which i cut using craft foam so it stands out and is hard wearing.

I finished the album by making a hole in the back cover so i could thread jute through.I tied a metal charm at the bottom to make a book mark.

Thanks for visiting and you can see more Willow at www.trimcraft.co.uk

Keep it simple with 8x8 layouts

                                                                                 Hi all

today i am going to introduce you to scrapbooking on a smaller scale.

A lot of us are pushed for time but would love to document our family photos. I this post i will be giving you ideas and tips on how to scale down a scrapbook page to an 8x8 format so that it is less overwhelming.

I always start off with a plain background so that the colours do not clash with my layers. You can also customize the Background with inks and stamps to match the theme of the photo.

see you can add mixed media to a smaller page size without losing effect. Below are a few more page ideas.

That Craft Place June DT project

Hi all

I am back with more mixed media loveliness. Today i have an altered MDF heart wall hanging from That Craft Place we have a natter and chatter Facebook group  and a challenge blog     http://thatcraftplaceblog.blogspot.co.uk/  if you would like to join us.

first i painted the MDF with DecoArt white chalk finish paint to prime it.I then painted on crackle glaze and spritzed turquoise DecoArt mister over it and painted on with a paint brush. I then painted another layer of crackle glaze over it and used Artiste Sea Spray Acrylic Paint.

i then stamped the kaisercraft botanical stamp onto the edge of the heart and used navy blue embossing powder to make it stand out.

I dyed paper flowers with mist sprays before gluing them to the bottom.

This is a lovely stamp from That Craft Place and is a reminder that you can achieve anything if you      put your mind to it.

I never thought i would end up making a card with skulls on because the kinda creep me out but this is one of my favourites. Mainly because i could pass it off as a Halloween card or a Birthday card for a goth friend if i had one.

i dyed white flowers grey and purple to go with the colour scheme and i like deep purple so i am using it on everything

Weeping Banshee Card for Forever Dark

Hi all
Something for those who craft on the dark side. I have another project using Teri's La Llorona weeping woman digi stamp from Delicious Doodles. There is a Facebook challenge on until 30th June to enter your dark creations for a chance to win so Delicious Doodles stamps. here is the group link www.facebook.com/groups/377596482275106/ you will be asked to join and once accepted you can upload you project in the photos section of the page.

The paper is a digital fownload from Farfarhill and is free for personal use. I print them out in draft mode to spare the ink.

I used black ink to dye white flowers black and left to dry before spritzing more black ink under the flower cluster. Some of the black ink bled into the red roses creating a grungy look. It was an accident but it looks cool.

Thank you for visiting and if you would like to join us you can sign up for the Delicious Doodles facebook group.

On my travels with First Edition Travel notes

Hi all
Im back with a new layout using the latest paper pads from First Edition. This is Travel Notes and is perfect for all those holiday photos. I had a lovely week away in Weymouth as we had warm sunny weather most of the week. We went sight seeing visiting Portland Bill and the Northe Fort. We are going back in September so i hope to see a bit more of Dorset next time.

I have recently come back from a week in Weymouth so i wanted to start scrapping my photos. I used Turquoise DecoArt mister on the background and used a stencil mask over the top.

I used the Varsity alphabet die set to make the title. These dies are about 1.5 cm so the right size for cards and layouts.

I stuck paper behind the frame so it would look a bit neater on the page but you could also stick things in the middle.

Thank you for visiting and please comment xx

Delicious Doodles June Challenge

Hi All

Here is my entry for the Delicious Doodles Challenge.

I have used the Green Man stamp to create this Pagan themed greeting card. I created the background by applying some texture paste mixed with green ink to a Tim Holtz stencil mask. i then sprayed green-yellow DecoArt mister over the card.

Here is another version of the Celtic Dragon frame from my Forever Dark DT project. i kept the main focus on the stamp itself by keeping the card simple.

Forever Dark June Challenge

Hi everyone
Here is my first project as part of the Forever Dark Challenge team. we have two sponsors this month the first one is Delicious Doodles  Teri has an Etsy shop which sells these beautiful digital stamps.

you have the chance to win a few for yourselves just by playing a long with our challenge which is Anything goes, as long as its dark, goth, horror, fantasy or steampunk you can link up your projects here http://foreverdark2.blogspot.co.uk/

The winner can choose 3 digi stamps from the Delicious Doodles shop.

For my Challenge entry i choose the Celtic Dragon Frame stamp. He is easy to colour in because the shading is already part of the stamp. I used the Mirabelle paper pad for the paper layers and splattered it with black DecoArt  misters with a few splashes of green ink.

The sentiment stamp is from www.stampingallday.com

Wedding cards with First Edition The Promise

Hi all
I'm sharing some Wedding cards i made using The Promise paper pads by First Edition.

/i cut out the sentiment so i could stagger it a bit to get it to fit on the card better.

I made the Polaroid frame into a shaker box by cutting around acetate and using craft foam to create a thick frame to hold the sequins in.

The paper flowers are from the Belle and Boo and Mirabell Collection

I cut the embossed butterflies out from on of the 6x6 sheets and then layered the sentiment over it.

Thanks for looking and the product information is on the Trimcraft website www.trimcraft.co.uk
